2D Echocardiography is a non-invasive, ultrasound-based test that creates detailed two-dimensional images of the heart. It allows doctors to visualize the heart’s chambers, valves, and pumping function in real time.
When combined with color Doppler, it provides additional insights into the direction, velocity, and quality of blood flow through the heart and its valves, helping to detect regurgitation (leakage), stenosis (narrowing), or abnormal shunts.
Strain imaging further enhances the test by measuring subtle deformation of the heart muscle, enabling the early detection of systolic and diastolic dysfunction—even before symptoms or changes in ejection fraction become apparent.
This test is valuable because it offers a complete evaluation of both heart structure and function. While 2D Echo shows chambers and pumping action, Colour Doppler reveals blood flow patterns, and Strain Imaging detects subtle dysfunction. Together, they enable early diagnosis of heart disease, guide treatment, and monitor therapy.
Provides detailed visualization of heart chambers, valves, and wall motion.
Detects valve leakage, narrowing, and abnormal blood flow patterns.
Identifies early ventricular dysfunction with strain imaging.
Useful in diagnosing and grading heart failure.
Assists in the management of congenital and acquired heart disease.
Tracks therapy response in chronic cardiac conditions.
More sensitive than conventional echocardiography alone for subtle abnormalities.
Non-invasive, safe, and repeatable test suitable for both routine and advanced cardiac care.
“Committed to exceptional healthcare and compassionate care for every patient, at every step.”
